Hair Type Chart

Gentlemen, hair type and hair texture are very important variables in selecting not only the correct hairstyle but also the best styling products to get the look you desire. To reduce confusion, we have created a hair type chart to easily identify your own unique hair type and hair texture.

There are four hair types and that are classified on a hair type chart: straight, wavy, curly, and kinky. Each of these hair types has different needs when it comes to styling, so knowing which category you fall into is important in order to find the right hair care regimen and products. For example, gentlemen who have straight hair have hair that prefers to lay close to the scalp and is oily. Straight hair types crave volume and need product(s) that deliver volume. Conversely, men with curly hair have hair that has natural volume but experience hair that is dry. They often prefer products that add moisture and definition to the curl pattern.

Men have a hair texture that is either fine, normal, or thick (coarse). Coarse hair is thicker in circumference and more resistant to damage. It also tends to frizz more easily than fine hair, which is typically thinner and more fragile.
